Ghost Hunt: Lincoln Park

February 5, 2020

Teams of six wander a haunted park, interacting with ghosts portrayed by actors. Each ghost has a unique characteristic: One always lies. One will not talk to you if you look directly at it. All ghosts are based off actual members of the Couch family, the only residents of the park's only mausoleum.

Successful ghost encounters point players to clues such as fake newspaper articles, crayon drawings by a child ghost, and the last will and testament of the ghost patriarch. The winning team matches each ghost to their real world historical counterpart.

Length:  2 hours
Event:    Fundraiser
Players: General Public

Theatre Mir, a Chicago theater company, wanted an out of the ordinary Fall fundraiser. After discovering that Lincoln Park was formerly a graveyard, we created a historically-inspired scavenger hunt based on the only remaining tomb, the Couch Mausoleum.

“Prescott was fun to work with and came up with entertaining ideas. He folded actual Chicago history into a complex mystery and set up unusual interactions between players and ghosts - I personally loved the crying ghost, who would only help players once shown a picture of her long lost daughter. Prescott certainly knows his audience.”
